It is expected to cross 1 billion within the next week. In addition to this it finally opens in Japan next weekend where the film could make a lot of money. With the massive success of this film a sequel must defiantly be being discussed along with other Nintendo projects.

Warner Brothers Discovery also finally had a win this weekend. Evil Dead Rise was originally set to debut on HBO Max but was moved to theatres in their new release strategy. This ended up being a great idea as it beat industry projections and opened with a strong $23.6 million domestically. It also grossed a strong $16.8 million overseas, for a global total of $40.3 million. As this only cost $19 million to produce the breads at Warner Bros must be very happy and could signal the return of this iconic franchise.
